For safety reasons, earrings are not permitted to be worn at any NSNA netball games. Players wearing earrings will not be allowed on court.

Net Set Go games are umpired by parents who play a key role facilitating the game. Ideally each team should have 2 parent umpires. Parents new to NSG umpiring should attend the NSNA Red Robin clinic on Saturday 1 March.See NSNA website for details.
Juniors Grading –Years 4,5 & 6
The Years 4, 5 & 6 teams play in a graded competition. We use an independent expert netball grader to grade our teams every year.
Location: Indoor netball court, Marie Bashir Centre, Cross St, Mosman.
Dates: Thursday 13 February AND Tuesday 18 February 2025
Time: From 3:30pm. Times for each age group will be advised once registrations close.
Players are expected to attend both grading sessions. Please email shmnetball@gmail.com if your child will miss a session. Note: players can only be graded on the sessions they attend.
Players should bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
U10 NSNA Grading Night
After our players have been graded within our netball club, the U10 teams play in a NSNA grading event at the Willoughby Bicentennial Reserve Netball Courts from 4.30 – 7.00 pm on Friday 14 March. Further information will be provided to U10 teams.
“Coach the Coach” Program
We are very fortunate to have our coach Jacqui Donohoe continuing our coaching program for the 2025 season. The aim of employing a qualified coach is to assist our parent volunteer coaches. Jacqui will work in partnership with our volunteer parent coaches by developing weekly training plans, leading drills and supporting parent coaches. Most importantly, through this partnership, our aim is to develop the netball skills of our players in a positive environment. If the parent coach is unable to attend a training session, another parent volunteer will need to attend the training to assist Jacqui running drills and skills for your team.
It is important that volunteer parent coaches attend every training session to work with Jacqui and the teams so ensure the skills developed at training flow through to the games. The SHM Sports Club and your children rely on parent volunteers to make the netball season fun and well organised. Note, teams will not be registered with NSNA until a parent coach is confirmed. Please email shmnetball@gmail.com if you can help.
Training
Teams train at school on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons. Undercover training available if raining. Netball is a team sport and all players must be available to attend training every week if they would like to play.
Net Set Go:
Year 2: Wednesday 3.10 – 4.10pm
Year 3: Thursday 3.10 – 4.10pm
Juniors:
U10: Tuesday 3.10 – 4.10pm
U11: Tuesday 4.10 – 5.10pm
U12: Wednesday 4.10 – 5.10pm
IMPORTANT: While every effort is made to form Juniors teams from within school year groups, uneven player numbers mean that teams may include a mix of players (eg Year 4/5 combined) which could change when your child trains. Years 4-6 parents will be notified about training times after teams have been finalised.
Parent Volunteers
Each team needs a parent coach and team manager. Net Set Go teams also need a parent umpire. Please email shmnetball@gmail.com if you would like to help.
All parent volunteers must have a Working With Children Check (see https://ocg.nsw.gov.au/working-children-check). Please email your WWCC details to shmnetball@gmail.com before the start of the netball season.
Northern Suburbs Netball Association
The NSNA website is a fantastic resource which has a wealth of information including the full 2025 competition calendar, NSNA competition by laws, programs for umpiring and coaching, skill development programs etc. Wet weather announcements are made via the NSNA homepage and social media.
